On the 30th of June 2016, The President of the Republic of Angola approved a private investment project named Skac – Soluções Globais (SU), Lda, which aims to build and explore an industrial unit dedicated to the refinement of cooking oil and a complimentary unit for the processing of waste and soap residue. Located in the municipality of Catumbela, Benguela Province, the global investment amount is 113,150,000.00 USD.
The implementation of this project will contribute to the promotion of industrial activity in the province of Benguela and the creation of a total of 59 direct jobs, of which 53 are for Angolans and 6 for expatriate workers.
The project is aligned with the National Development Plan of 2013-2017 by promoting the development of the manufacturing, food and hygiene products industries through the diversification of the national economy on a sustainable basis to ensure the achievement of the following objectives:
- Promotion of domestic production;
- Promotion of job creation and labor training skills for the local workforce;
- Provide effective supply of the internal market;
- Reduce imports.
UTIP as the state representative, which oversaw the signature of this investment contract will provide the necessary institutional support, through support mechanisms and monitoring in conjunction with other state bodies involved in the field of private investment.
